These top tech jobs pay an average Rs 15-32 lakh; know where to find them

If you work in the technology sector, you know by now that areas such as automation, big data and artificial intelligence are where the most lucrative opportunities exist.

A new report by online skilling firm Simplilearn throws some light on this, listing the most high-paying job profiles, the total number of jobs in that space and the cities where demand for these is the most.

'The Future of IT Jobs In India' survey was conducted among 1000+ learners, IT working professionals across metro cities in India to understand their views on digital transformation and how it is impacting their careers.

“The salaries for some of the roles are dependent on the skills," Kashyap Dalal, Co-founder and Chief Business Office, Simplilearn told Moneycontrol. "Companies, especially in the IT sector, are no longer are into mass hiring. They are in fact looking at trained talent in areas like automation, data science and artificial intelligence,” he added.

These are the jobs most in demand in the technology space, according to Simplilearn:

Data scientist

A data scientist is someone who makes value out of data. Such a person proactively fetches information from various sources and analyzes it for better understanding about how the business performs, and builds AI tools that automate certain processes within the company.

Data from Simplilearn showed that more than 20,000 jobs are on offer in this segment. Bengaluru leads the list with the maximum number of jobs.

AI Engineers

An artificial intelligence programmer helps develop operating software that can be used for robots, artificial intelligence programs or other artificial intelligence applications.

About 8,000 jobs are on offer this segment. Delhi leads the cities with maximum jobs for this skillset.

Cloud Architects

A cloud architect is an IT professional who is responsible for overseeing a company’s cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.

More than 14,000 jobs are on offer in this segment. Bengaluru offers the maximum number of jobs in this area.

Cyber Security Specialists

A security architect is the individual who is responsible for maintaining the security of a company’s computer system. They must think like a hacker would, because they must anticipate all of the moves and tactics that hackers will use to try and gain unauthorised access to the computer system.

As many as 36,000 jobs are on offer in this segment. Bengaluru leads the list again.

Digital Project Managers

A digital project manager runs projects to build websites and mobile apps through discovery, planning, production, deployment and maintenance.

About 18,000 jobs are on offer in this space. Bengaluru is the top city offering this job.
