The Budget discussion: FM defends Budget math

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley defended India’s growth history and his Budget math in parliament today.

Jaitley reiterated that the India’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth has been the highest in the world in the last three years and that even organizations like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank have recognized this as a fact.

In a speech, that lasted nearly an hour, Jaitley also countered his predecessor P Chidambaram’s charge that the Budget math would result in a higher fiscal deficit.
