Telangana government unveils 4 IT sectoral polices

The Telangana government unveiled four IT sectoral policies on cyber security, data analytics, data centre and open data polices.

Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao said another two policies on IoT (Internet of Things) and smart technologies and e-waste management will be released within two months completing the entire stack of allied policies.

"Following the remarkable success of the ICT Policy launch in April this year, the department has finalised allied policies on data centres, open data, cyber security and data analytics, taking the count to eight allied (sectoral) policies," KTR said after unveiling the policies here.

"I can proudly say that Telangana is the only state with such a comprehensive set of policies which reflects the State's clarity of vision and direction," he added.

Dinesh Malkani, President, Cisco India and SAARC and Former Nasscom chairman BVR Mohan Reddy were among those present at the occasion.

Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said he is confident that the new policies may attract niche players in the sector from across the world and further solidify the state's position as front-runner in IT/ITES and emerging technologies.

Meanwhile, seven Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Letters of Intent were signed between Telangana Government and Cisco, Fatality, DSCI, CtrlS, SCSC, Nasscom and Cropdata Technologies in the areas of City Digital Platform, Collaboration of Open data initiative, developing a joint cyber security charter and art data centres among others.
