PSU major Coal India Ltd on May 7 reported 12 percent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 9,604 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025. It reported consolidated net profit of Rs 8,572 crore in the year-ago period.
The firm declared a final dividend of Rs 5.15 per share for FY25.
The firm's consolidated revenue from operations decreased marginally to Rs 37,825 crore in Q4FY25 as against Rs 38,213 crore in Q4FY24.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 15 percent to Rs 15,727.15 crore in the fourth quarter of this fiscal over Rs 13,631.70 crore in the year-ago period. The EBITDA margin stood at 37.7 percent in the reporting quarter compared to 33.7 percent in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
CIL's total expenses in the fourth quarter marginally increased to Rs 29,057 crore from Rs 28,950 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
The company said coal production remained nearly the same at 201 million tonnes during the quarter, up from 202 million tonnes in the comparable quarter last year.
Off-take of coal was at 201 million tonnes, compared to 202 million tonnes in the year ago quarter.
Meanwhile, shares of Coal India on May 7 closed Rs 384.2 apiece on NSE, 1.57 percent lower against its previous closing.
