The quarter to March-end is expected to be a tough one for JSW Steel which will announce numbers later in the day.Like other miners, in 2011 the firm had to discontinue mining at its 10-million tonne plant in Karnataka due to the mining ban imposed by the Supreme Court which was lifted last month.
Flattish volumes and lower realisation were key concerns that could not be addressed during the quarter.
According to CNBC-TV18 poll, JSW Steel is expected to report around 55 percent year-on-year decline in March quarter profit to Rs 345 along with an around 8.4 percent de-growth in sales to Rs 1585 crore.
