Automobile Corporation of Goa (ACGL) is in focus as the auto industry is gearing up for the transition into electric vehicles. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, OV Ajay, CEO & Executive Director of Automobile Corporation of Goa spoke about the latest happenings in his company and sector.
Tata Motors control 47 percent stake in Automobile Corporation of Goa.
We manufacture only the body of the e-bus. ACGL is an associate company of Tata Motors, he said.
So large portion of what we do comes from Tata Motors bus business and we make buses to suit their domestic and international bus requirement, he added.
Company is part of Tata Motors electric bus and hybrid bus programme, said Ajay.
ACGL has a capacity of around 9,000 vehicles per year and current capacity utilisation is 70 percent, he further mentioned.
According to him, there is no competition between Marco Polo and ACGL. We have a different portfolio, he said.
