Aster DM Healthcare will set up a 430-bed multispecialty hospital in Bengaluru’s Sarjapur suburb, its fourth facility in the city, the healthcare chain said on May 7.
The Rs 480-crore investment would position Aster among the top three healthcare providers in the region, with a total bed capacity exceeding 2,000.
The new hospital, spread across 400,000 square feet, would be developed in phases.
The first phase, comprising 300 beds, is expected to be operational by the second half of FY27, with the remaining 130 beds coming online in FY29.
“This state-of-the-art facility is being designed to deliver world-class, patient-centric care,” Aster DM Healthcare founder and chairman Dr Azad Moopen has said.
“It will cater to the rapidly growing healthcare needs of the region, with a strong focus on oncology from inception.”
The Sarjapur area, emerging as a major IT corridor, is witnessing rapid infrastructure growth, including a proposed 1,050-acre IT hub by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board and a Metro line under Phase 3. Its proximity to Whitefield, ORR, and Marathahalli enhances its strategic appeal.
With this expansion, Aster aims to strengthen its leadership in the southern healthcare market and deepen its presence across Bengaluru’s key zones.
Aster DM Healthcare operates 19 hospitals, 13 clinics, 203 pharmacies, and 254 labs across five Indian states.
