7 simple additions to your beauty routine for healthy skin on your face, arms, and feet

Harsh weather conditions, made worse by air pollution, can leave your face, arms, and feet dull, dark and dry. Amid exposure to these environment stressors, your skin needs a little extra love and care to tackle this harmful cocktail of pollution, UV rays, and blue light, all of which contribute to premature ageing, dryness, and dullness.

You don’t need an elaborate 20-step routine to bring your glow back, all you need is a little care, effective products and proper regime, says Swetha Chidambaram, Founder of Marmelo Beauty. “It is important to realise that healthy skin is about how it feels and performs as your body’s first line of defence. Adding just a few purposeful products to your routine can transform your skin from dull to nourished and plump,” she adds.

Chidambaram shares a list of products that will help you achieve healthy skin, making sure your skincare routine is both effective and nourishing:

  • Hydration-boosting toner: A good hydration-boosting toner is your first line of defence after cleansing. Toners that are rich in humectants like hyaluronic acid or glycerin help replenish the skin’s moisture barrier. They ensure that your skin remains hydrated throughout the day. This simple step can prevent dryness and maintain a youthful  skin.

  • Glow-boosting liquid primer: A glow-boosting primer, especially in liquid form, packed with light-reflecting particles and hydration-boosting ingredients, is the key. It preps the skin by locking in moisture and improving the skin’s natural glow.

  • Lip scrub and tinted balm: Exfoliating the lips with a lip scrub removes dead skin cells and smooths the surface, leaving your lips ready to absorb moisture. Follow up with a tinted lip balm with nourishing ingredients like shea butter or vitamin E for long-lasting hydration.

  • Serum blusher for a healthy shine: A swipe of serum blusher can instantly rejuvenate your look by adding a natural flush to your face. You may opt for a cream or powder formula. Always choose blushes with buildable pigmentation to avoid over-applying.

  • High-quality concealer: A good concealer helps to hide the imperfections and also nurtures the skin. Opt for concealers infused with skincare ingredients like peptides or antioxidants. These formulas provide coverage,  treat dark circles, blemishes, and fine lines, thus ensuring your skin stays healthy while looking flawless.
