On the 87th birth anniversary of the legendary Shashi Kapoor, his grandson, Zahan Kapoor, offered a heartfelt tribute, sharing cherished glimpses of the veteran actor's life. Zahan, who recently garnered attention for his performance in the Netflix drama "Black Warrant," took to Instagram to commemorate his grandfather's special day, posting a series of poignant throwback photographs.

The images painted a vivid picture of Shashi Kapoor's serene domestic life. In the first photograph, he is seen seated comfortably in his home, clad in a traditional white kurta-pajama, engrossed in a book, with a pipe resting in his hand. The backdrop featured a striking portrait of a warrior, adding an air of timeless elegance to the scene. The subsequent picture showcased Shashi Kapoor posing against the backdrop of Prithvi Theatre, a testament to his deep-rooted connection to the world of performing arts.

The surrounding film and play posters served as a reminder of his vast and impactful contribution to the Indian cinematic landscape.

Zahan Kapoor's simple yet touching caption, "Saalgirah dadaji (Happy birth anniversary, grandpa)," resonated with warmth and affection, encapsulating the deep bond shared between grandfather and grandson.

Shashi Kapoor's journey in the Hindi film industry began as a child actor in the 1948 film "Aag," directed by his elder brother, Raj Kapoor. His transition to lead roles commenced with the 1961 film "Dharmputra." Over the years, he graced the silver screen with his presence in numerous iconic films, including "Deewar," "Satyam Shivam Sundaram," "Kabhi Kabhie," "Silsila," and "Kaala Patthar."

His illustrious career was punctuated by numerous accolades, including four National Film Awards, the Padma Bhushan, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, solidifying his status as a cinematic titan.

His passing on December 4, 2017, after a prolonged illness, marked the end of an era. He was 79.
Zahan Kapoor, carrying forward the family legacy, has made his mark in the film industry with his recent projects. He debuted with Hansal Mehta's action thriller "Faraaz" and further showcased his talent in the OTT series "Black Warrant." Reflecting on his experience working on "Black Warrant," Zahan described it as a "life-changing" journey.

"Black Warrant," directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, also featured Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Cheema, Anurag Thakur, and Sidhant Gupta in pivotal roles. The series premiered on January 10, bringing Zahan's performance to a wider audience.
