Filmmaker Anand Tiwari has once again captured audience attention with his latest comedy, Bad Newz. The film, starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, created a buzz right from its announcement, thanks to its interesting posters. The excitement only grew with the release of its trailer, which showed the film’s unique premise: heteropaternal superfecundation, where a woman becomes pregnant with twins from different fathers.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Amazon Prime, Bad Newz centers around Saloni Bagga, played by Triptii Dimri. Saloni finds herself in the unusual predicament of carrying twins from two different men, a rare condition that sets the stage for a comedic yet thought-provoking narrative. Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk portray the two men vying to prove their worth as the better father, adding layers of humor and drama to the storyline. The cast also features Neha Dhupia in an important role.
The film's music has also been a hit with the audience, particularly the song Tauba Tauba, sung by Canada-based rapper Karan Aujla. The track has become an instant hit, with Vicky Kaushal's dance moves stealing spotlight.
Vicky Kaushal celebrated the film's success, posting on Instagram, "Grateful to each and every one of you who made this happen!!!"
Bad Newz has not only garnered critical acclaim but has also performed exceptionally well at the box office. The film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide, with its total gross standing at Rs 100.28 crores. In India, the film has earned Rs 66.79 crores, while its overseas collections have contributed an impressive Rs 33.5 crores to the total, highlighting its appeal everywhere.

This milestone marks Bad Newz as the eighth Bollywood movie of 2024 to join the Rs 100 crore club globally. The other films in this prestigious group include Fighter, Shaitaan, Crew, Article 370, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Kalki 2898 AD.
Bad Newz is considered a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Good Newwz, directed by Raj Mehta, which starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ammy Virk, and Kiara Advani. While Good Newwz tackled the comedic confusion of a sperm mix-up, Bad Newz ventures into new territory with its bold and unconventional storyline.
