The Great Indian Kapil Show welcomed Indian National Cricket team members Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube in its third episode of the second season. The episode was a delightful mix of humour, laughter, and cricket, celebrating the team’s World Cup victory.
It was during a game of dumb charades that the real fun began. Rohit Sharma was given a placard with MS Dhoni’s name. Axar Patel attempted to mimic Dhoni’s iconic helicopter shot, but Rohit couldn’t guess it. Axar’s best efforts were met with laughter when Rohit quipped, "Yeh toh sabhi chakka marte hai aise" (Everyone hits a six like this). Suryakumar Yadav then stepped in and perfectly recreated Dhoni’s helicopter shot, prompting Rohit to finally guess “MSD.”
Despite struggling in the previous two episodes, Kapil Sharma and his team were in top form for this one. A surprising highlight was Soundous, who managed to deliver laughter even though the writing for her set wasn’t up to par.
Krushna Abhishek continues to get better and impress, showcasing his well-honed comedic skills. His efforts to match the comedic genius of Sunil Grover, who has been a key figure in the show’s success since the last season, are evident.
A new addition to the show is Jamie Lever, daughter of comedy legend Johnny Lever. Jamie brings her Instagram reel mimicry of celebrities like Farah Khan and Rakhi Sawant to the stage, adding a familiar flavour to the comedy lineup.
Rohit Sharma’s appearance on the show proved to be a hit. His episode from the previous season was the most viewed. This episode was no different, as the camaraderie between the cricket stars and Kapil’s team brought out genuine, hearty laughs.
