The latest episode of The Kapil Sharma Show featured the evergreen and iconic diva Rekha. The actress made some intriguing revelations about her personal and professional life while chatting with Kapil Sharma and Archana Puran Singh.
During the episode, Kapil revealed an interesting anecdote about the song Kaisi Yeh Paheli, picturised on Rekha and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. He said, "Sunidhi Chauhan once said in an interview that if she had known the song was for Rekhaji, she would have put even more effort into it. Just imagine how even singers get tensed when they know the song is for Rekhaji. Ma'am, has it ever happened that a singer's performance on a song was so good that you decided to perform on it?"
Rekha replied, "Sunidhi said that she would have done a better job if she knew about it. She is a professional and amazing in her singing. This used to happen in the early days with Lata Didi and other artists, wondering for whom they were singing."
Kapil then requested Rekha to mimic Lata Mangeshkar, but she politely refused. He shared, "Rekhaji has this hidden talent of observing people and mimicking their mannerisms perfectly. I've seen it before, and it would be our honour if she did it for the audience once."
Rekha then shared a heartwarming anecdote, "It was Lata Didi's birthday, and she had invited me. On stage, in front of everyone, I told her, 'I am your biggest fan, and if God is listening to me, then I ask for a daughter like Lata Didi in my next birth.' She then sweetly responded, 'Why wait for the next birth? I am your daughter in this birth.' Since that day, she always called me 'mumma.' Even today, I can hear her voice calling me 'mumma.'"
