Emily Gold, a 17-year-old cheerleader from California, has tragically passed away in an apparent suicide, according to reports.

Emily Gold's body was discovered late Friday night under an overpass in Rancho Cucamonga. Authorities are treating her death as a suicide, and the California Highway Patrol confirmed that her body had been run over multiple times before it was found, including by a vehicle that did not stop.

Emily Gold’s death comes just a month after her high school cheerleading team, Los Osos High School, captivated the judges on NBC's America’s Got Talent.

During their audition in May, Emily Gold and her team received a standing ovation from Simon Cowell and the other judges. The troupe advanced to the quarterfinals but was eliminated in the episode that aired on August 14.

Emily Gold's brother, Alex, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing, “The times we spent together won’t ever be enough. Half my heart is gone without you… Rest in heaven Emily Gold because it will always be your world.”

In the wake of her death, a $50,000 GoFundMe campaign has been launched by Jeanette Fierro to support the Emily Gold family. The campaign aims to assist with funeral expenses and provide financial support during this difficult time.

Fierro's message on the fundraising page reads, “With great sadness we share our Los Osos Grizzly Emily Gold has passed away. As a community, let’s come together and support the Gold family in this difficult time.”

Emily Gold, a senior at Los Osos High School, was known for her role as the varsity dance captain. Her dance team expressed their deep sorrow on Instagram, describing her as a “beautiful, kind, and loving” individual who embodied the team’s core values through her strength, commitment, kindness, and humility. They mourned the loss of a leader, role model, friend, and sister to her teammates.

In an interview before the elimination episode aired, Emily Gold discussed the challenges of balancing school and competing on America’s Got Talent, emphasizing her focus on applying corrections and performing well despite the pressure.
