Girish and The Chronicles advanced to the next round on AGT

America’s Got Talent Season 20’s auditions are currently ongoing with Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, and Melanie "Mel B" Brown gracing the judges’ chairs.

However, one particular entry during the audition round is making headlines.

Indian hard rock band Girish and The Chronicles (GATC) was originally formed in Sikkim and now based in Bengaluru. The band has auditioned and instantly impressed the judges. Additionally, they created history by becoming the first Indian rock band to hit the AGT stage. They also became the first Indian band to reach the next round.

The four-member band performed a reverb-drenched cover of Adele's song, Set Fire to the Rain, leaving the judges, especially Simon, visibly stunned. Meanwhile, Mel B called it her favourite performance of the season. They also received a standing ovation and yes from all four judges.

The band was initially formed in 2009 by brothers Girish and Yogesh Pradhan, alongside Suraz Karki and Nagen Mongrati. They started performing in Gangtok’s underground scene, inspired by ’80s rock legends like Dio and Guns N’ Roses.

However, they later moved to Bengaluru, and now they are representing the country at the global stage.

Rock band Girish and The Chronicles is currently in India, and they are set to perform in Delhi on June 6.
