Chennai police have now detained actor Krishna for interrogation in a significant development in the ongoing cocaine scandal rocking the Tamil Nadu film industry. This comes after former AIADMK official T. Prasad, a film producer and actor Srikanth, were arrested in the same case.

The actor Krishna Krishna is presently being questioned at the Nungambakkam Police Station. "It's an ongoing investigation," sources told NDTV, although the police have not revealed the details of his involvement.  "At this point, we have nothing to share. Following the interrogation, we will provide an update," added the source.

Intriguingly, a Times of India report claims that two prominent actresses are also being investigated by the police, raising the prospect that more well-known figures may be connected to the scandal.

In Judicial Custody: Srikanth Up until July 7th

Actor Srikanth was placed under judicial custody until July 7 after being held and interrogated for almost eight hours on Tuesday. He was questioned after T Prasad, who is suspected of giving Srikanth cocaine, was arrested.

The case against Srikanth was bolstered by reports that blood samples taken from him at Kilpauk Medical College Hospital showed the presence of drugs. One gram of cocaine and seven empty packets thought to have once contained the drug were found by police during their search of his house.

"Actor Srikanth, who had obtained and used cocaine, has been subjected to a medical examination," police said in a statement. His homes were searched extensively, and his financial transactions were examined. With the proper proof, he was taken into custody. The Prasad Nexus: Drugs, Fraud, & Land Grabbing

It has now been discovered that Prasad, who was first taken into custody after an intoxicated altercation at a pub on May 22, is a key player in a wider criminal conspiracy. According to the police, Prasad was involved in financial fraud, land grabbing, and even an attempted murder case in addition to his drug connections.

According to investigations, Prasad and his associate Ajay Vandaiyar seized properties in the Chennai area, primarily from non-resident Indians, using forged documents and threats.

Prasad is also charged with operating a job-for-money scam, allegedly defrauding more than 200 individuals of Rs 2 lakh each by making fraudulent job promises at government organizations such as the Income Tax Department, Chennai Corporation, TNPSC, and Railways. An estimated Rs 2 crore has been stolen. The arrest of Senthil, a Madurai police official who was associated with Prasad, further escalates the seriousness of the case.

What Comes Next?

Authorities are searching through witness statements, bank records, and mobile data as the investigation progresses. With well-known names coming to light, the case may trigger a significant crackdown on organized crime and drug use in the Tamil film industry.

Police sources confirm that more arrests and interrogations are anticipated in the days ahead, even though actor Krishna's involvement in the drug ring is still unknown. One of the most explosive scandals to hit South Indian cinema in recent years is still this case.
