Stree 2 box office collection day 9: Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer horror-comedy to enter Rs 500 crore club soon

Stree 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular horror-comedy film, has been performing exceptionally well since its release on August 15. The makers of the film recently shared the latest box office collection, showcasing the film's continued success. Maddock Films took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a poster featuring the impressive numbers raked in by Stree 2 so far.

Stree 2 continues to dominate the box office, amassing a worldwide gross of Rs 456 crore. In India, the film has grossed an impressive Rs 386 crore, while overseas collections have reached Rs 70 crore. The total net collection in India stands at Rs 327 crore, with Rs 308 crore earned in the first eight days and an additional Rs 19.3 crore on the ninth day (Friday).

The team shared the numbers in a post on Instagram with the caption, "Stree 2 continues its magic in its second weekend! The storm has only grown stronger! Thank you everyone for your continued love and support."

In a recent interview, Stree 2's writer Niren Bhatt hinted at future plans to expand their supernatural universe. While he couldn't disclose specific details, he emphasized that all characters from their films, including Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya, were valuable to the studio. The writer expressed the intention to explore the stories of these characters further, although the exact timing and format of these expansions remain uncertain.

Stree 2 introduces a new headless villain named Sarkata, who is connected to the original character Stree. The film reunites the original cast, including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannah Bhatia add to the excitement with their cameos.
