Salman Khan-starrer Sikandar has recently been released in theaters and has generated significant buzz among audiences. Despite receiving poor reviews from critics, theaters across the country have been witnessing sold-out shows.
Surprisingly, the film was leaked online just a few hours of the release. However, Salman’s fans showed their loyalty and helped the makers to remove over 3,000 illegal links of Sikandar from the internet.
Additionally, the movie's makers are also taking action, working with the Cyber Cell to track down those responsible for piracy and taking them to court.
Sajid Nadiadwala's production house, Salman Khan's fan clubs, and law enforcement worked together to remove over 3,000 links sharing illegal copies of Sikandar. They also reported over 1,000 accounts to the authorities. Salman and Sajid are actively fighting piracy with the help of cybersecurity experts, lawyers, and social media platforms.
According to Midday, the official report reads, “The original source of the leak remains unidentified, but authorities are actively tracking the IP addresses linked to its dissemination. Legal action will be taken against those responsible.”
Ravi Desai, head of the Salman Khan Fan Club on X (formerly Twitter), shared, “On March 26, a handle had posted an unseen image from the film and claimed that they will release the film’s prints. Later, that account vanished."
He added, "On Saturday at 11.30 pm, a print was released from another X handle. It was first available on HDM [a website for torrent downloads], and from there, it came to X. By 12 am, it was everywhere.”
Desai shared that when he and others noticed the piracy issue, they quickly informed Salman Khan Films at midnight. Within 30 minutes, the film's producers and anti-piracy experts worked together with the Mumbai Police's Cyber Wing to track down and remove illegal accounts on X and Telegram.
He wrote, “Within hours, we received thousands of reports from fans who helped us track down many accounts. Over 3000 links have been pulled down so far. We feel the leak happened at the post-production end.”
Salman Khan's Sikandar was released on March 30, 2025. Unfortunately, the full movie was leaked online the same day. Several websites and platforms, including Tamilrockers and Telegram groups, offered illegal downloads and streaming links. This can hurt the movie's performance at the box office.
