Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 19 to not include YouTubers and influencers, focus on only TV and film celebs: Report

The excitement around Bigg Boss 19 has already started to build, and according to recent reports, the makers are planning a notable format shift for this season. In a significant departure from previous years, the upcoming installment of the reality show will reportedly not feature YouTubers or social media influencers. Instead, the contestant lineup will be exclusively made up of established television and Bollywood personalities.

According to a report by Telly Reporter, the producers of Bigg Boss 19 have decided to steer the show back towards its roots, focusing solely on well-known names from traditional entertainment industries. This change comes after several seasons that saw the rise of digital content creators who brought in a fresh and younger audience to the show. Personalities like Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan (Fukra Insaan), Manisha Rani, and Rajat Dalal managed to leave a strong impact with their dynamic presence, wide fan base, and strategic gameplay.

Despite their popularity and the viewership boost they brought, the decision to exclude influencers this time around appears to be a deliberate move by the makers. The aim is reportedly to return to a more celebrity-centric format, giving the show a more traditional glamour appeal. This could be an effort to revive the original essence of Bigg Boss, which was primarily known for its focus on mainstream actors and entertainers.

While the official list of contestants has not yet been announced, sources suggest that the casting process is already underway. The production team is said to be in talks with prominent faces from the television and film industries. If everything proceeds on schedule, Bigg Boss 19 is expected to premiere on July 19, 2025.

Adding to the anticipation, a recent report by Gossips TV claimed that Bigg Boss 19 will run for an extended duration of six months, from July until January 2026. Furthermore, it's been reported that Bigg Boss OTT will not return this year, possibly to avoid viewer fatigue and concentrate all attention on the main television edition. As always, the show will be hosted by Salman Khan, whose association with the franchise continues to be a major draw for fans.

Though the channel and production house have yet to officially confirm the new format or premiere date, fan speculation is already rampant regarding potential contestants. With the shift back to TV and film stars, Bigg Boss 19 promises to bring a fresh twist while still delivering the drama, entertainment, and excitement the show is known for.
