It is known that the Cybercrime Branch in Hyderabad has struck a severe blow to online piracy by blocking Rs 1.61 crore in bank accounts related to an operator of iBomma, one of Telugu cinema's most popular piracy sites.
According to officials, this is part of a bigger plan to stop the greatest movie pirate ring in India. In 2024, the syndicate that leaked hundreds of Telugu movies is estimated to have cost the Telugu cinema industry more than Rs 3,700 crore.
The Police in Hyderabad held a press meet today with regards to this scam and actor Nagarjuna took part in this event, representing the Telugu film industry. At the meet Nagarjuna spoke about one of his family members being digitally arrested for two days and how they had suffered with such scammers and fraud techies sitting across different cities in the world.
Nagarjuna for mentioned that while they were about to approach the police and inform about what is happening, the scammers, let them go. Nagarjuna stressed on the point that it is very important for all of us to be careful with our social media profiles and where are data is available to scammers.

It is not yet known who that family member whose account was arrested digitally. But it is very sure that if an Akkineni family member could not get away with this, it is obvious that it would be very tough for a common man.
