Veteran actor Raj Kapoor, who was referred to as The Greatest Showman and Charlie Chaplin of Indian Cinema, died in 1988, and his grandson and actor Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up to pay a tribute to him.
A video of Ranbir is going viral on social media, which shows the actor channelling his grandfather’s look.
A paparazzi video shows Ranbir exiting the vanity van in a black blazer with a black shirt underneath. He paired it with matching ankle-length pants.
The actor completed his look with a black hat and a cloth bag attached to a stick, just like the legendary Raj Kapoor in Shree 420. The actor bore a striking resemblance to his grandfather in the video, especially from Raj Kapoor’s look in the 1955 film Shree 420’s song, Mera Joota Hai Japani.
Ranbir didn’t elaborate on his look but flashed a bright smile and waved to the cameras, but fans are convinced that something is cooking up.
The actor left everyone baffled as to if he was paying tribute to his grandfather with the look or whether he was starring in the remake of the song. Fans have to wait for a bit for the official announcement.
For the unversed, Raj Kapoor died on June 2, 1988, after facing complications arising from asthma, specifically kidney and heart failure. He was 63.
