A wave of grief swept through Ludhiana as hundreds gathered outside the home of Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda to bid him a final farewell. The artist, who tragically passed away at the age of 35 following a motorcycle accident in Himachal Pradesh, will be cremated on October 9 in his native village, Pona, in Jagraon.
Family members, close friends, and fans arrived early in the morning to pay their respects, their faces heavy with sorrow. The atmosphere outside the Jawanda home was filled with quiet mourning, a mix of disbelief and heartbreak.
Emotional scenes unfolded as relatives and well-wishers embraced one another, struggling to process the loss of a man whose voice had become a defining part of modern Punjabi music.
White tents and mourning drapes covered the family home, with people lining up to offer condolences and prayers. Many of his colleagues from the Punjabi entertainment industry were also seen arriving, joining the community in remembering Rajvir not just as an artist, but as a kind, humble soul who never lost touch with his roots.
Rajvir’s wife, who had reportedly begged him not to go on the motorcycle ride that led to the fatal accident, was inconsolable.
Family sources described her as “completely shattered,” surrounded by relatives trying to offer comfort amid unbearable grief.
Jawanda died after an 11-day fight for life at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, where he was treated for severe head and spinal injuries sustained in the crash. Despite the best medical care, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a void in the Punjabi entertainment world that fans say will never be filled.
Rajvir Jawanda rose to fame with songs like Tu Dis Penda, Khush Reha Kar, Sardari, Surname, and Landlord. His music reflected pride in Punjabi culture and often carried themes of resilience, love, and simplicity. He also made a mark as an actor with films like Subedar Joginder Singh and Mindo Taseeldarni, earning respect for his authenticity on screen.
