Raashii Khanna has recently addressed Bollywood making remakes of South Indian films

Actress Raashii Khanna, who is gearing up for her upcoming Telugu film Telusu Kada, has established her name in both the Bollywood and Tollywood film industries. However, she has recently addressed the recent conversation about Bollywood films being copied from South Indian movies.

The actress agreed with the conversation and insisted that the makers should rethink the strategy. She believes audiences want new content, especially with dubbed films easily available online.

During a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Raashi noted that Bollywood is currently trying to remake successful South Indian films to do well at the box office, and she acknowledges this is a current trend.

She said, “I can’t disagree that we do see remakes from the south quite often but I think the industry is also realising more and more that the audience needs newer content and that dubbed films are anyway available to watch online.”

The actress added, “Also, with the upcoming OTT platforms, language too is not a barrier anymore. I do see that shift in the thinking process and I can just hope that we are able to churn newer content and try different genres because honestly, no one knows anymore what works and what doesn’t.”
