Neetu Kapoor remembers Rishi Kapoor on his birth anniversary by sharing a fun throwback video

On the 73rd birth anniversary of late actor Rishi Kapoor, his wife and actress Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to post a heartfelt reel that stitched together memories, anecdotes, and candid quotes from those who knew and loved him the most.

On the 73rd birth anniversary of late actor Rishi Kapoor, his wife and actress Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to post a heartfelt reel that stitched together memories, anecdotes, and candid quotes from those who knew and loved him the most.

While sharing a video from the time when Rishi Kapoor hosted a live stage show titled "Khulam Khulla - Live With Rishi Kapoor' in 2017. The show was based on the anecdotes from Rishi Kapoor's autobiography 'Khullam Khulla' and Rishi spoke about his own life in his own funny style.

The video, brimming with warmth and nostalgia, featured Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu along with the entire Kapoor Khandaan - his mother Krishna Raj, son Ranbir Kapoor, first cousin Sanjana, Zahaan Kapoor, veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai, actor Kirron Juneja, and director Ramesh Sippy, each recalling the actor’s charm, humour and enduring legacy left by Rishi Kapoor.

Rishi Kapoor's son and actor Ranbir’s words stood out as he spoke about his dad's live stage performance.

The video opened with Rishi Kapoor recalling the time when in one of his famous songs, he was made to wear a ladies trousers for it.

There were many close friends, family members and actors from the film fraternity at the event back then.

In the video, there is Kirron Juneja, who said: "Total Rishi Kapoor is what I would call it."

Black Warrant actor Zahaan Kapoor, who is the grandson of Shashi Kapoor, said: 'An incredibly well put show.'

Director Subhash Ghai, who had worked with Rishi Kapoor in Karz, said: "He really talked Khullam Khulla."

Sanjana then said: "I think he is such a fantastic story teller."


Rishi Kapoor's son and actor Ranbir Kapoor, also spoke highly about his father: "A man who has been in the industry for 40 years and all the anecdotes, all his experiences, and to share with such a large audience. I think it is a wonderful idea."

The reel, shared by Neetu with the simple act of remembrance, quickly resonated with fans and colleagues alike.

Many fans took to the comment section and wrote: " According to me he is the greatest actor of all time. Happy Birthday Rishi Sir."

Another one wrote: "Rishi Kapoor is the OG KAPOOR of his era..."

One more user wrote: "Happy birthday Rishi ji.. may u be happy n cheerful where ever you are up there"

It became less of a tribute and more of a celebration, a way of keeping alive the laughter, energy and artistry that defined Rishi Kapoor both on and off screen.

Rishi Kapoor, fondly remembered as Bollywood’s original 'chocolate boy,' passed away on April 30, 2020, at the age of 67 after a two-year battle with leukemia.

He was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai a day earlier due to breathing complications and breathed his last the following morning. His death left a void not only in the film fraternity but also in the hearts of millions of fans across the world.
