The celebrations were grand, with several prominent personalities gathering to pay tribute to ANR, one of the most revered figures in Telugu cinema. The event featured several highlights, including the unveiling of a special postal stamp to commemorate ANR’s contributions to the film industry and society.

A key highlight of the celebration was the announcement of the prestigious ANR Award, which this year would be conferred upon none other than the iconic Megastar Chiranjeevi. This decision comes as a recognition of Chiranjeevi’s enduring impact on Indian cinema, and it further amplifies the significance of the event in 2024.

As part of the celebrations, Nagarjuna Akkineni, son of the late ANR and a celebrated actor himself, personally visited Chiranjeevi’s residence to formally extend an invitation for the ANR Awards. The visit was marked by a warm and cordial exchange between the two legendary actors. A photograph of Nagarjuna handing over the official invitation to Chiranjeevi quickly circulated on social media, delighting fans of both stars.

Nagarjuna also took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to express his excitement about the award ceremony, saying, “This year is extra special as we celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of my father, ANR garu! Honoured to invite @SrBachchan ji and Megastar @KChiruTweets garu to the ANR Awards 2024 to mark this milestone! Let’s make this award function unforgettable!”

The event, scheduled for October 28, 2024, will take place at the Annapurna Studio Annexe 7 Acres, a location that holds significant sentimental value for the Akkineni family and the Telugu film industry. The ceremony promises to be a star-studded affair, with some of the biggest names in the Indian film industry expected to attend. The guest list includes stalwarts such as Amitabh Bachchan, who has previously received the ANR Award, and will be presenting this year’s honor to Chiranjeevi.
