The Warrens return to us in the chilling final film of The Conjuring universe.

The blockbuster 'Conjuring' series, which has grossed a staggering $2 billion, is set for its grand conclusion. Warner Bros. has slated the final instalment of the 'The Conjuring' saga for a theatrical and IMAX release on September 5, 2025.

This upcoming fourth film in the acclaimed supernatural horror series remains untitled, but its announcement comes amidst a rich history of the 'Conjuring' universe. Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have expanded the franchise beyond its original storyline to include prequels, sequels, and spinoffs, such as 'The Nun,' 'Annabelle,' and 'The Curse of La Llorona.'

The journey began with 2013’s 'The Conjuring,' directed by James Wan and produced by Peter Safran. The film introduced audiences to paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who aid a family plagued by a sinister force in their farmhouse. The movie was a phenomenal success, grossing $319 million globally and establishing the franchise's mythos. The most lucrative entry so far has been the 2018 prequel 'The Nun,' which focuses on Sister Irene (played by Taissa Farmiga) battling the demonic nun Valek in 1952 Romania, raking in $366 million worldwide. The franchise's total earnings soared past the $2 billion milestone following the release of 'The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It' in 2021. The ninth film, 'The Nun II,' released in 2023, contributed an additional $269 million to the franchise’s impressive box office tally.

In conjunction with the news of the final 'Conjuring' film, Warner Bros. also announced a scheduling shift for Maggie Gyllenhaal’s 'The Bride!' Originally set for October 3, the film will now premiere on September 26, 2025. This period piece, set in 1930s Chicago, offers a fresh take on the classic Frankenstein story. Christian Bale stars as Frankenstein’s monster, with Jessie Buckley as the titular bride. The film's cast also includes Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening. 'The Bride!' follows Gyllenhaal’s acclaimed directorial debut, 'The Lost Daughter,' which was released by Netflix in 2021.
