During an interview with the Hindustan Times, he opened up about his struggles and how he transitioned from being a kitchen help to becoming a celebrated actor.

Aasif Khan's journey to stardom was far from easy. After his father's untimely death, Asif had to take up various small jobs to support his family. He revealed, "To sustain myself, I started working as a waiter at a hotel." It was during this period that he got an unexpected glimpse into the world of Bollywood.

Working in the kitchen department of a hotel, Aasif was part of the staff catering to a high-profile event—the wedding reception of Bollywood stars Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Recalling the moment, he shared, "After a few months, when I was working in the kitchen department, we had a party which was Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s reception."

Despite the financial hardships, Aasif never let go of his passion for acting. In 2010, he convinced his mother to allow him to pursue acting professionally. This marked the beginning of his relentless pursuit of an acting career. Aasif soon left his job at the hotel and started working in a mall. It was around this time that he began giving auditions and joined a theatre group in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

His involvement in theatre helped him hone his skills and build connections within the industry. Aasif started working as a casting assistant, which opened doors for him to perform small roles in various films. His early filmography includes notable appearances in movies like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Pari, Pagglait, and many more. Each role, no matter how minor, was a stepping stone towards his ultimate goal.

Aasif Khan's breakthrough came with his performance in the superhit series Jamtara. His portrayal of a character in this series garnered widespread acclaim and brought him into the limelight. Following this success, he appeared in several other popular series, including "Paatal Lok" and "Mirzapur." These performances not only showcased his versatility as an actor but also solidified his position in the industry.

Looking forward, Aasif has several exciting projects lined up. He is set to appear in Section 109, Kakuda, Noraani Chehra, Chakallas, and The Virgin Tree. His journey from working behind the scenes at high-profile events to becoming a recognisable face on screen is a testament to his hard work and unwavering determination.
