Karan Johar, the prolific filmmaker and television personality, has expressed his disappointment over a comedian's impersonation of him. Johar, known for his vibrant personality and flamboyant presence both on and off-screen, took to social media to voice his disapproval of his mimicry, labelling it as "poor taste" and expressing how it makes
him sad.

"I was sitting and watching television with my mom... and saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respectable channel... a comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste... I expect this from trolls and faceless and nameless people but when your own industry can disrespect someone who has been in the business for over 25 years it speaks volumes about the times we live in... this doesn't even anger me it just makes me sad!" KJo wrote on his Insta Stories.

The incident unfolded on a popular comedy show, where a comedian attempted to mimic Johar's distinct mannerisms and style. While impersonations are not uncommon in the entertainment industry, especially in comedic settings, Johar's reaction suggests that this particular portrayal crossed a line for him.

Johar's response has sparked a debate among fans and industry insiders about the fine line between satire and offence in comedy. While comedy often relies on exaggeration and caricature for humour, it's essential to consider the impact it may have on the subjects of such impersonations, especially when they are public figures with significant influence and visibility.

Earlier this month, Karan Johar took to Instagram to impart a valuable message to his followers. Through a series of posts on his Instagram stories, the renowned filmmaker urged his fans to embrace the reality that not everyone may harbour positive feelings towards them, and said that such sentiments are perfectly acceptable.

"You absolutely HAVE to become ok with not being liked. No matter how loving or kind you are, you will never people please your way into collective acceptance. You could be a whole ray of sunshine and people will hate you cuz they're used to rain. Be ok with shining regardless," he wrote.

The acclaimed filmmaker is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated 'Mr and Mrs Mahi.' Featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles, the movie is scheduled to hit the screens on 31 May.
