We see a lot of surprise cameos in the movie: Mrunal Thakur, SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salman.

Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan starrer Kalki 2898 AD hit theaters today (June 27) to a massive response. The movie, which is a visual spectacle, seems to have hit the right chords.

Kalki 2898 AD has gotten outstanding reviews, and Moneycontrol in its review has mentioned that it is worth the hype.

Kalki 2898 AD Storyline

Talking about the about the Kalki 2898 AD storyline, the movie begins in the Kurukshetra yudh, where Lord Krishna punishes Ashwathama for killing Uttaara's unborn child. He is then punished by Lord Krishna with immortality. Krishna also takes away his mani, which gave immense power to Ashwathama.

The movie then shifts, many years later, to a world that is now being ruled by Supreme Yaksin, who is none other than Kamal Haasan. Everyone has only one desire: to serve in the complex, which is guarded.

Yaksin is looking for that one fertile woman for his Project K, whose serum he needs. Nobody knows what Project K is. Women, who are fertile, get good food, but the rest are just numbers.

Prabhas' enters as Bhairava, who is a bounty hunter, and his only aim is to enter the complex. He manages to enter the complex for an hour with his friend Roxy, played by the oh-so-sexy! Disha Patani. Who has an extended cameo in the movie? She looks fab, and her toned body is whistle-worthy.

Bhairava and Roxy manage to step outside the complex and get to see the real world, play on the sand by the beachside, and enjoy champagne, only to be caught and thrown out of the complex.

At the start, it is shown that rebels who live in this protected village, Shambala, are being hunted by bounty hunters. One boy is held by Prabhas, aka Bhairava, who is seen with Bujji (his robot vehicle), as he sees him as his entry into the complex.

We see a lot of surprise cameos in the movie: Mrunal Thakur, SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salman.

In the complex, we see Deepika Padukone's character SUM 80 (later called Sumathi), who is shown to be serving the fertile women who are seeded to get pregnant.

She keeps feeding the pregnant women, but it is shown that she herself is carrying a baby in her womb and has survived the 150 days demanded by Yaksin.

She doesn't want her unborn child to meet the same fate as other women did. But her bad luck gets caught, and commander Manas comes to know of it. He wants to take the serum for Yaksin but is unable to, and only one drop of serum is extracted from Sumathi's womb. She manages to escape with the help of a confidante, who is actually a spy for Shambala.

There is a scene where Sumathi manages to escape from the complex as she walks through.
fire, unscathed.

Deepika is later prophesied to be the mother of Kalki, Vishnu's 10th avatar.

A young boy manages to run away from the complex, but not before taking the mani (gemstone). He meets Mighty Ashwatthama in the cave, where Ashwathama realizes that the savior, the God himself, is about to be born after 6,000 years.

Ashwathama gets his mani, which was taken back as a punishment by Lord Krishna during the Kurukshetra war. And he gets his powers back too.

He is out to save Sumathi, but he has to fight Bhairava, who gives him tough competition.

Special appearances

Vijaya Deverakonda as Arjun is a pleasant surprise, and Dulquer Salman as the mentor of Bhairava looks nice.

One of the best cameos is by Baahubali filmmaker SS Rajamouli. The fun banter between Rajamoul and Prabhas is too good to be missed. Prabhas asks Bujji to take him away, or else he will again take him for five years. Rajamouli says 'ab dus saal ke liye lekar jaonga' is too cute.

Prabhas is at his comic and fun best. His antics, especially with the futuristic vehicle Bujji, are also noteworthy.

Brahmanandam, Bhairava's landlord, was welcomed with a loud cheer in the halls. His one-liners and chemistry with Prabhas create laugh-worthy moments.

Major Spoiler

We cannot go beyond all this, but yes, we can tell you that Bhairavaa is the reincarnation of Mahayodha and Ashwathama's friend Karan.

He fights Manas with his staff and manages to save Sumathi.

Yaksin gets that one drop of serum and is rejuvinated.

Now go grab your tickets and watch Kalki 2898 AD in movie halls.
