The highly anticipated pan-Indian film Kalki 2898 AD is eyeing a record-breaking opening.

Kalki 2898 AD is the much-anticipated release this year. The Prabhas, Deepika Padukone starrer is going to hit theatres on June 27. There have been reports of record-breaking advance bookings for the film across India and overseas.

Moneycontrol spoke with trade analyst Atul Mohan to know what's in store for the sci-fi movie, to which he replied, "The film is expected to open to record-breaking numbers."

"Kalki 2898 AD is set to be a monumental release in Indian cinema. With its stellar cast, innovative blend of futuristic and mythological themes, and the immense buzz it has generated, the film is expected to open to record-breaking numbers. I anticipate it will become the biggest opener of the year, setting new benchmarks at the box office," Atul Mohan told us.

Sacnilk also reports that the movie is likely to collect a whopping Rs 200 crore, and if achieved, this would be a record for 2024. It will also place Kalki 2898 AD among the top three biggest opening-day hauls in the history of Indian cinema.

Prabhas, best known for his role in Baahubali, continues to demonstrate his star power despite recent setbacks.

Since Baahubali, Prabhas has had a mixed run, with one hit and several big-budget disappointments. Nevertheless, his popularity remains intact, especially in Telugu-speaking regions, which are reporting record-breaking pre-sales for Kalki in 2898 AD.

The film's advance sales in the Hindi-speaking markets also indicate a significant uptick in interest, further solidifying Prabhas' standing as a major box office draw.

Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Films. The film boasts a stellar star cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Disha Patani.

The movie is going to release tomorrow (June 27).
