On the magazine's cover, the 53-year-old actor proudly displays scars from a life-threatening accident that required numerous surgeries and reveals a prominent scar tracing his back's right side, accompanied by smaller marks adorning his chest and a visible scar on his leg—a testament to the January 2023 incident near his Nevada residence.

Caught beneath a colossal PistenBully, weighing over 14,330 pounds, Renner endured a catastrophic ordeal while clearing snow with his nephew. The aftermath? A staggering tally of over 38 broken bones, including a complex network of six ribs shattered in 14 places, a fractured tibia, and a collapsed lung. Renner's journey from the brink of mortality to this moment of raw vulnerability underscores his resilience and the profound impact of the incident on his life and career.

“I remember every undulation. I remember my head cracking on the thing and it just pressing on me — it’s exactly like you think it would feel. An immovable object and a crushing force, and something’s gotta give. But thank God my skull didn’t fully give,” Renner said.

“The first five minutes were about how I’m going to breathe,” he recalled, Then after maybe 10 minutes, my neighbours are there, they called 911, and I got my nephew to hold my arm in a position where … because apparently my ribs are jabbing me and poking my lung. Mind you, my leg was twisted up like a pretzel — didn’t feel that s–t!”

Renner’s determination is stupendous, “People ask how. ‘How do you do this?’ You just put in the work, man. Love yourself. Be confident in yourself. How do you find confidence? You take one step, then you take another step, and then guess what, Hot Sauce? You’re walking! You know what I mean?”
