Janhvi Kapoor, currently promoting her upcoming film 'Mr & Mrs Mahi' recently shared a heartfelt story about her late mother, Sridevi, and her father, Boney Kapoor. In a chat with portal, Janhvi recalled how her mother, Sridevi, was deeply concerned about Boney Kapoor's smoking habit in the mid-2000s.
Janhvi recounted that during her childhood, she and her sister Khushi would often find creative ways to destroy their father's cigarettes. They would either cut up his cigarette packets or open them and put toothpaste on the cigarettes. Despite their efforts, nothing seemed to work, and their mother, Sridevi, would constantly argue with Boney Kapoor about his smoking.
In her chat, Janhvi mentioned that Sridevi decided to give up eating non-vegetarian food to encourage Boney Kapoor to quit smoking. Despite doctors advising against it due to her weakness, Sridevi persisted, telling Boney that she would not eat non-veg until he stopped smoking. Boney Kapoor would often beg her to eat, but Sridevi remained firm in her decision.
It was not until approximately four to five years ago that Boney Kapoor finally quit smoking. Janhvi shared that he eventually decided to honour Sridevi's wishes, even though he couldn't quit when she initially wanted him to. He quit smoking and has remained smoke-free since then.
Janhvi also mentioned that her mother Sridevi passed away in February 2018. This story highlights the strong bond and influence that Sridevi had on her family, even in her absence. The love and determination she showed for her husband's health left a lasting impact.
Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming films include 'Mr. and Mrs. Mahi' with Rajkummar Rao, 'Ulajh'. Janhvi continues to carry forward her mother's legacy in the film industry while sharing personal stories that resonate with many fans.
