Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna to be seen in a horror comedy from the makers of Stree 2, Munjya

Dinesh Vijan’s next chapter in the horror comedy universe was just announced ! Following the tremendous success of Stree 2 and Munjya this year, the universe will expand with a love story—albeit a bloody one! With Munjya achieving significant box office success and Stree 2 breaking all records to become the top film in Bollywood, Maddock Films is making waves.

The team's unique storytelling, often laced with humour and horror, has created a distinct cinematic universe that resonates with fans. This trend will continue with their upcoming film, 'Thama', which promises to deliver a compelling love story set against a bloody backdrop.

Set to hit theatres on Diwali 2025, "Thama" brings together an impressive cast, including Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Under the direction of Aditya Sarpotdar, the film is written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, "Thama" is anticipated to add another hit to Maddock’s growing leg.

The announcement of the film was done by the production house via their official Instagram account. The post read, "Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe needed a love story... unfortunately, it’s a bloody one. Brace yourselves for #Thama - Diwali 2025!"

'Thama' was previously titled as 'Vampires Of Vijaynagar'. This film will be the first love story of the horror-comedy universe. Talking about Thama, Aparshakti Khurana had told PTI, "Something that has never happened in Indian filmmaking where there's this world in which so many great characters will come together and will stay in people's hearts. There's something very special coming your way very soon."
