Actor Kim Soo Hyun has once again found himself at the center of a storm after false claims resurfaced that he dated the late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was still a minor. The controversy reignited when a deleted post by Kim Sae Ron reappeared online, sparking wild speculation across social media. In response, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team has firmly denied the allegations, calling them fabricated and malicious.

His lawyer, Ko Sang Rok, issued a detailed clarification on Monday through a public blog post, addressing the timeline and authenticity of the viral photo that fueled the rumors. “The photo of the deceased and Kim Soo Hyun, which the deceased posted on social media and then deleted, was taken in February 2020, when she was a sophomore in college,” Ko stated. This directly contradicts online claims suggesting the photo was from her teenage years.

Ko also accused a controversial YouTuber of tampering with evidence and spreading misinformation. “The YouTuber who first raised these allegations began manipulating and fabricating data after receiving factual rebuttals,” he said. According to him, the manipulated version of the photo and accompanying captions were used to falsely imply an inappropriate relationship between the actor and the late actress.

The lawyer further emphasized that Kim Soo Hyun never had a romantic relationship with Kim Sae Ron, particularly not before she became an adult. “Kim Soo Hyun has never dated her even for a single day before she became an adult,” Ko declared. He added that the actor’s legal team is preparing strong action against those responsible for the spread of defamatory claims, including the YouTuber and any individuals involved in circulating falsified content.

Ko described the scandal as “an unprecedented national fraud crime” that has damaged the reputation of an innocent person through systematic fabrication. The statement concluded with a warning that those who continue to distort facts or share manipulated evidence will face legal consequences. Kim Soo Hyun’s team reiterated that the actor has no connection to the allegations and urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims.
