Popular South Korean actor Kim Soo-Hyun has recently sold one of his luxury residences in the prestigious Galleria Fore complex in Seoul, igniting speculation about his financial situation amid ongoing legal disputes. However, representatives for the star have firmly denied that the sale was prompted by any monetary concerns.
According to property records, Kim finalised the sale of a 170.98-square-meter unit on July 3 for 8 billion KRW (approximately USD 6.15 million or INR 49.8 crore). The actor initially bought the apartment in 2014 for 3.02 billion KRW, netting him a handsome profit.
The timing of the transaction—just days after Kim became entangled in a high-profile lawsuit filed by advertisers seeking financial damages—fueled rumors that the sale may have been a reaction to mounting legal and financial pressure.
However, sources close to the actor swiftly addressed the speculation. They clarified that the decision to sell was made well in advance of the recent legal controversies and that a buyer had already been secured in 2023. The transaction's formal contract date happened to coincide with the public emergence of his legal troubles, unintentionally sparking rumors of distress selling.

Kim Soo-Hyun continues to maintain a strong foothold in Seoul’s luxury real estate market. He still owns two other high-end properties in the same complex, both 90-pyeong apartments, one acquired in 2013 and another as recently as 2024. Despite this, his assets have come under scrutiny due to legal proceedings. One of the apartments is currently under provisional seizure following a 3 billion KRW claim from medical device firm Classys, along with an additional 100 million KRW claim by the Malaysian branch of appliance company Cuckoo.
These developments unfold as Kim Soo-Hyun navigates multiple legal battles. A YouTube channel recently accused him of having an inappropriate relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-Ron while she was underage—a claim he has categorically denied. Kim insists that their relationship began only after she reached adulthood. His legal team has responded forcefully, filing lawsuits for defamation, coercion, and stalking. In a sign of progress, the investigation has been reassigned to a new team at Gangnam Police Station.
