The much-awaited Tamil film Revolver Rita, starring National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh, has officially locked its release date. The makers have confirmed that the action-comedy drama will hit theatres on August 27, 2025, coinciding with the festive occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. To build excitement among fans, the team unveiled a special announcement video, revealing the release date in a quirky and engaging manner.

Directed by J K Chandru, Revolver Rita features Keerthy Suresh in a bold and powerful new avatar, showcasing her in a massy role quite different from her previous performances. In the teaser released in October 2024, viewers were intrigued by her mysterious character, which left them guessing — is she a RAW agent, a police officer, or an underworld don? This ambiguity has only increased anticipation for the film, which promises a blend of action, comedy, and drama.

The film wrapped its shoot in May 2024, and post-production has been in full swing since then. Keerthy will be seen taking on a gang of goons in what appears to be a highly stylized action entertainer laced with humor. Supporting her in the film are well-known faces such as Mime Gopi, Redin Kingsley, Sendrayan, and stunt choreographer Super Subbarayan, who also plays a pivotal role.

Produced by Sudhan Sundaram under Passion Studios and Jagadish Palanisamy of The Route, Revolver Rita is a collaboration of experienced technicians. The film’ visuals are crafted by cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan, while editor Praveen KL is in charge of the film’s pace and narrative flow.

On the professional front, Keerthy Suresh was last seen in Baby John, the Hindi adaptation of Vijay’s Tamil blockbuster Theri (2016), where she played a significant role. On the personal front, the actress made headlines in December 2024 when she tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Antony Thattil in a private ceremony.
