Tamil actress Kayadu Lohar, who became a known face after her performance in the film Dragon, is now embroiled in a controversy.
According to reports, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has found connections between the actress and the ongoing Tasmac scam, which is under its scanner.
According to a report in Mid-Day, Kayadu has purportedly been given Rs 35 lakh by a group of people related to the tainted firm that is part of the scam.
As a return, she was supposed to visit such private night parties of the accused. Her name allegedly cropped up in the recent ED raids, and this triggered an uproar in the film industry and among her fans.
Kayadu and her team are yet to break their silence on the allegations.
The news has sparked rampant speculation on social media, where fans have been left horrified by the scandal.
Hailing from Tezpur, Assam, Kayadu Lohar is a Commerce graduate, who rose to fame after participating in beauty contests and making her screen debut.
Her first Tamil film Dragon was opposite Pradeep Ranganathan which she feels was a turning point in her career.
Before Dragon, Kayadu had acted in a few regional films. Her first breakthrough was in 2021 with the Kannada film Mugilpete and then made her debut in Malayalam with Pathonpatham Noottandu.
She has since appeared in Marathi and Telugu films, and she made her debut in the music video, as well as in Bollywood with Dragon.
At present Kayadu is preparing for her upcoming film STR49 directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan featuring Silambarasan TR.
The movie is currently being shot and will only solidify her position in the South film industry.
All eyes are currently on how the investigation will go and how the actress will respond to the accusations.
