Aquaman actor Jason Momoa will be returning in Dune: Messiah as his character Duncan Idaho, revealed the actor recently.
During an appearance on TODAY, he shared the exciting news with Craig Melvin, saying, “I’m making a comeback,” and joked, “You heard it first, right here with you, baby.” Fans are in for a treat.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune: Messiah will take audiences 12 years into Paul Atreides’ reign as Emperor of the Known Universe. The upcoming 2026 film will explore how the powerful religious movement he cultivated begins to slip from his grasp, ultimately unleashing a catastrophic war that claims billions of lives.
A pivotal aspect of the story will center on Duncan Idaho, who is resurrected as a ghola—a genetically engineered clone. His return plays a crucial role in a deeper conspiracy against Paul Atreides, portrayed once again by Timothée Chalamet.
As betrayals unfold and power struggles intensify, Dune: Messiah is set to deliver a gripping continuation of Frank Herbert’s epic saga.
Apart from Jason, timothy, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem are set to return in the characters for the 3rd installment of Dune franchise.

When questioned about Duncan Idaho’s return, Jason Momoa playfully suggested that his character might reappear in a manner faithful to the books. He jokingly remarked that it’s not his responsibility if audiences are unfamiliar with the source material.
