Hrithik Roshan is gearing up for a new chapter in his career, and this time it's in the director's chair. The actor will be making his directorial debut with Krrish 4. This marks a major milestone for Hrithik, who has previously wowed audiences with his acting skills but now steps behind the camera to take the superhero franchise to new heights.
Fans are eagerly anticipating his vision for the film, as he is set to lead the Krrish saga into its next exciting phase.
Hrithik Roshan and Yash Raj Films have officially teamed up for the much-awaited Krrish 4, with Rakesh Roshan, the creator of the beloved superhero franchise, confirming that the fourth instalment will be directed by Hrithik himself.
While Rakesh has directed and produced the previous films, he had previously announced that he wouldn’t be helming Krrish 4, choosing instead to pass the reins to his son, Hrithik, entrusting him with this significant responsibility.
On Friday, Rakesh Roshan shared a heartfelt note on X, expressing his pride in passing the baton to his son.
Duggu 25yrs back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 yrs you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Adi Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Earlier, Krrish 4 had been under the direction of Siddharth Anand, who also worked with Hrithik on Fighter. However, Rakesh confirmed to Variety that Hrithik has always been deeply connected to the franchise. “I am passing the baton of the director of 'Krrish 4' to my son, Hrithik Roshan, who has lived, breathed and dreamt about this franchise since its inception with me. Hrithik has a clear and a very ambitious vision of taking Krrish’s journey forward with the audience for the next decades,” said Rakesh.
He further described the film as a “deliciously creative combination” and expressed immense pride in seeing his son take on the director's role for a project so close to their hearts. “Krrish has entertained audiences the world over and Hrithik will now reveal the next chapters of this superhero saga and take the vision I created so many years ago to greater heights," Rakesh added.
The Krrish franchise began with Koi... Mil Gaya in 2003, and the last film, Krrish 3, was released in 2013, starring Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, and Vivek Oberoi.
Rakesh also acknowledged Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Films for their support in taking the film to a global level, recognising their expertise and resources in producing this ambitious project.
