Fatima Sana Shaikh recalls her debut film Chachi 420: 'I was just 4 years old'

Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh’s journey in the film industry began at a remarkably young age, making her debut as a child actor in the beloved film Chachi 420.

Reflecting on her early days, Fatima recently shared a heartwarming memory that remains close to her heart. In an interview, she reminisced about her time working on Chachi 420, a film she fondly remembers even today.

Speaking about her most unforgettable work trip, Fatima said, “The outdoor shoot of Chachi 420 was the most memorable. I was just 4 years old, and we were filming in Chennai. We stayed at a beautiful hotel that had a swimming pool and a beach nearby.” She vividly recalled the atmosphere, adding, “I still remember the smell of the place. There were flowers blooming, and the fragrance of ‘geeli mitti’ (wet soil) from the rain is something that has stayed with me.”

Fatima played the role of Gudiya, the daughter of Kamal Haasan’s character, in Chachi 420. This early experience in the industry laid the foundation for her acting career, and over the years, she appeared in other films as a child actor, including Ishq (1997), Bade Dilwala (1999), Khoobsurat (1999), and One 2 Ka 4 (2001).
