Tata Motors on Wednesday fixed the record date to issue shares for the demerged commercial vehicle business.
The Mumbai-based automaker informed the shareholders through an exchange filing that the company has fixed Tuesday, October 14, 2025 as the record date for the purpose of ascertaining the eligibility of shareholders for the said corporate action.
The company in a regulatory filing, said "shareholders of the company who will be issued and allotted 1 (One) share of TMLCV (face value of INR 2/- each fully paid up), for every 1 (One) share of the Company (face value of INR 2/- each fully paid up) of the same class of shares outstanding and as held by such shareholder in the Company on the Record Date".
The equity shares to be allotted by TML Commercial Vehicles Limited (TMLCV) are proposed to be listed on both BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).

The company had in August last year approved the demerger of its commercial and passenger vehicle businesses into two listed entities to sharpen focus and capitalise on growth opportunities.
Post-demerger, the passenger vehicles arm will be renamed Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPVL). The commercial vehicles unit will be listed in November as Tata Motors Ltd (TML).
Shares of Tata Motors were among the top gainers on the Nifty50 index. The stock quoted at Rs 701.90 per share on the NSE, up 3.46 percent at around 12 p.m.
