Easter Sunday is around the corner, and several Bollywood celebrities are gearing up to enjoy the feast. Easter is a favourite occasion of actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Malaika Arora, Genelia Deshmukh, Jaqueline Fernandes, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. They are known for their Easter celebrations, be it house parties or an Easter Brunch with friends and family where they serve and eat Easter specialities including Simnel cake, Easter Eggs and Easter Bunnies along with a lavish brunch. For daughter Malti Marie's first Easter in 2023, Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared photos of them in custom tees - the posts went viral.
Several restaurants across Mumbai, including restaurants in 5-star hotels, put out a big spread for Easter Brunch, which these celebrities enjoy. Others commemorate Easter by purchasing and gifting Easter eggs (not the kind squirrelled away in films and shows, of course) and Easter bunnies to children in the family.
Malaika Arora generally heads to her mother’s house to spend the day with her family over an extravagant lunch. Kareena Kapoor Khan definitely likes to pick up Easter eggs for her sons, and Taimur was seen enjoying one on social media an Easter or two ago. Her sister-in-law, Soha Ali Khan, too indulges her daughter Inaaya with Easter Eggs and Bunnies.
From Marzipan eggs to chocolate ones, there are decadent options available nowadays. One can order these in advance or pick them up from places like Theobroma outlets across Mumbai, A1 Bakery at Bandra, or even ITC Fabelle.
Easter Brunches, too, abound across cities in India, not just Mumbai. Expect to savour traditional dishes like Roast leg of lamb, Lamb Chops, Pork Sorpotel and sannas, Devilled Eggs, Smoked haddock, Citrus glazed Ham, East Indian mutton curry, Pulao, and of course an array of sweets and desserts.
In Goa, one can head to Casanoni Trattoria in Panjim for rustic, home-style Italian food. In Mumbai, enjoy a delectable meal at O’Pedro or Poco Loco or a spread at St Regis Mumbai. If you’re in Bengaluru, The Oberoi Bengaluru and Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield have Easter options. Delhites can indulge in a repast at ITC Maurya or Pullman and Novotel New Delhi Aerocity.
