Disney and Pixar are returning with a new intergalactic adventure, ELIO, and the studio has recently sparked among the audience with the release of a new teaser for the film.
The studio dropped the trailer with the caption, “Life’s better with friends by your side! Disney Pixar’s #Elio is coming to cinemas on June 20. Releasing in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.”
Disney introduces Elio, a space-obsessed boy with a wild imagination who suddenly finds himself beamed across the galaxy and declared Earth’s ambassador by a quirky council of aliens.
The trailer opens with visuals from Toy Story and Inside Out, accompanied by the text, Life is better with friends.
The teaser further shows Elio travelling through strange planets and meeting unusual creatures while facing a huge cosmic crisis. Along the way, he discovers his true identity and learns what it means to belong.
The teaser also shows Elio making new alien friends and taking his life’s best adventures with them.
The upcoming film is directed by Madeline Sharafian, Turning Red fame filmmaker Domee Shi and Adrian Molina (Coco). Elio boasts a stellar voice cast featuring Yonas Kibreab as Elio, Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Remy Edgerly as Glordon and Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon.
Meanwhile, Jameela Jamil has voiced Ambassador Questa and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO in the upcoming film.
The film was initially slated to hit the theatres on June 13. However, Disney pushed Pixar's Elio release back by one week to avoid direct competition with DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon.
