Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Squid Game Season 3, and the Netflix series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has just raised the excitement among the viewers.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hwang has teased some intense details of the upcoming season and revealed that he has lost two more teeth while filming after pulling out eight during Season 1.
He admitted, “I thought it was going to be okay, but this time I had to pull out two more teeth as well. I had to pull out about eight teeth in season 1, and now I have two teeth more out, and I haven't put them back in yet. So I'm waiting for them.”
Meanwhile, Hwang has previously reflected on the stress of creating the blockbuster series and claimed that he had lost "eight or nine" teeth during Season 1.
The director and writer explained, “I do already have the universe and the space that I have envisioned come to life, so in a sense, season 2 and season 3 was easier compared to season 1.”
He elaborated, “But the problem is that for season 2 and season 3, we had to shoot and write in one go. It was as if we were making one season, and we tried as best as we could to bring in season 3 as fast as possible. So the total amount was much larger, and we had to shoot for around one year, so it was very physically demanding.”
Squid Game Season 3 left the fans on a cliffhanger with Gi-hun, aka Player 456, played by Lee Jung-jae, leading a failed rebellion against the Front Man, portrayed by Lee Byung-hun, which resulted in the death of his friend, Jung-bae, played by Lee Seo-hwan.
However, the new season is expected to feature ultimate betrayal, tragic death and shocking plot twists. However, Hwang has also hinted that things are only going to get darker in the upcoming instalment.
Squid Game Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on June 27 on Netflix.
