Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is known for his vibrant performances and connection with fans. Recently, he has been captivating audiences across the country with his "Dil-Luminati Tour." After thrilling fans in Delhi, he made a stop in Jaipur, where he created a memorable moment during his concert.
At the Jaipur concert, Diljit engaged with a fan who was wearing a traditional Marwari 'pagdi' (turban). This special interaction has gone viral on social media, showing Diljit’s appreciation for cultural diversity. Dressed in a stylish white outfit, Diljit invited the audience to applaud the fan’s pagdi, emphasizing its significance.
He expressed, “Ye pagdi humari shaan hai; yahi desh ki khubsoorti hai,” which translates to “This turban is our pride; this is the beauty of our country.” Diljit highlighted how India is a land of diverse cultures, languages, and foods, changing every few hours as you travel.
He celebrated this richness and unity in diversity, stating that no matter where people come from—be it Jaipur, Gujarat, Delhi, Haryana, or Punjab—they all share a love for their country.
The interaction didn’t stop there. Diljit asked the fan if he was a Marwari, to which the fan enthusiastically replied yes. Diljit then encouraged the crowd to show their appreciation for Marwaris, showcasing his love and respect for different cultures within India.
To add to the excitement, Diljit began singing his popular song "Main Hoon Punjab." In a playful twist, he adapted the lyrics to honour the Marwari fan, saying, “Mera bhai Marwari aa gaya oye,” which means “My brother, the Marwari has arrived!” This fun moment led to an impromptu bhangra dance on stage, where both Diljit and the fan danced together, bringing the crowd to their feet with joy and energy.
