Did you know Ratan Tata had produced one Bollywood film Aetbaar starring Amitabh Bachchan?

Not many know that veteran industrialist Ratan Tata had once produced a Bollywood film back in 2004.

Industrialist Ratan Tata passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday leaving a strong legacy behind him. Maharashtra Government has declared a day of mourning in the state on Thursday to pay tributes to industrialist Ratan Tata, the Chief Minister's Office said.

Ratan Tata is credited with transforming the Tata Group into a globally renowned conglomerate.

Not many know that the veteran industrialist had once produced a Bollywood film back in 2004.

Ratan Tata had decided to co-produce the film Aetbaar, which was a romantic psychological thriller directed by Vikram Bhatt.

Aetbaar has Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan along with John Abraham and Bipasha Basu.

Ratan Tata had co-produced the film with Jatin Kumar.

Aetbaar was inspired by the 1996 Hollywood film Fear and it explored the theme of obsession and family dynamics.

Aetbaar followed the story of of Dr. Ranveer Malhotra (played by Amitabh Bachchan), who is a protective father and goes to great lengths to protect his daughter, Ria (Bipasha Basu), from Aryan Trivedi (John Abraham). John's character Aryan was an obsessive lover with a dark past.

The plot thickens when Ria begins to fall for Aryan, putting strain on the close-knit family.

Upon its release, Aetbaar didn't perform well at the box office and it managed to earn just Rs 7.96 crore. The film, which was made at a budget of Rs 9.50 crore, was the only film produced by Ratan Tata.

Talking about Mr Ratan Tata, a state mourning has been announced in Maharashtra. There will be no entertainment events on Thursday.

Ratan Tata's mortal remains will be kept at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in south Mumbai from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday for people to pay their respects. His last rites will be performed in Worli area of Mumbai later in the day.
