Devara actor Jr NTR finds Janhvi Kapoor’s resemblance to Sridevi Garu striking, says, "she just looks like her"

Janhvi expressed that speaking and acting in Telugu gave her a sense of comfort and familiarity, making her feel right at home.

Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan are preparing for the release of Devara: Part 1 on September 27. In anticipation of the film's release, Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for Arjun Reddy, hosted a conversation with the Devara: Part 1 team—Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and director Koratala Siva. During the discussion, Jr NTR remarked on how much Janhvi Kapoor reminded him of her late mother, the legendary Sridevi.

Praising Janhvi's resemblance with her mother and late actor Sridevi, he said, “I remember, there was this photoshoot where we did a look test of sorts. There was this picture of hers which we released, where she was sitting on the boat and looking at the camera. She looked so much like Sridevi garu. In certain angles, she just looks like her. We tried to capture a bit of that also on camera but I don't think you can capture that in angles. But, it is in the way she performs, or in the way she smiles. It brings that reminiscence of Sridevi garu back.”

Janhvi expressed that speaking and acting in Telugu gave her a sense of comfort and familiarity, making her feel right at home. "It is weird for me to say this, but I feel that more when I perform and speak in Telugu. I don't know if that makes sense. It just felt more like home to me," she said.

Devara is a milestone for both Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, as it marks their debut in Telugu cinema, adding a unique significance to the film.

In Devara: Part 1, Jr NTR takes on the challenge of portraying two distinct characters—Devara and Varadha. Janhvi Kapoor steps into the role of Thangam, while Saif Ali Khan plays the formidable role of Bhaira, a kushti expert. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes seasoned actors such as Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shine Chacko, and Narain, adding further depth and talent to the highly anticipated project.
