Coldplay’s India tour has sparked unforgettable moments both inside and outside the concert venues. While the band’s Music of the Spheres tour rocked Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, one of the most heartwarming highlights came not from the stage but from the city’s iconic local trains.

In a viral video shared by Mumbai-based content creator Moksha Shah, a coach packed with fans broke into a spontaneous rendition of Coldplay’s Hymn for the Weekend. Recorded on their way back from the concert, the video captures the electric energy and shared joy that only live music can evoke.

Phones lit up the scene as passengers played the track and sang in unison, transforming an ordinary train ride into a moving tribute to Coldplay’s iconic music. The caption accompanying the video, “Mumbai locals never miss the vibe check, even with Coldplay,” resonated with thousands who praised the city’s unique ability to turn everyday moments into extraordinary celebrations.

Shah described the experience as “wholesome,” sharing that it felt like a continuation of the concert. “The train back home became a mini-concert. Even though there was no place to sit, everyone was singing together. It just shows how this city can do anything,” she added in her Instagram post.

The video of this impromptu performance has since gone viral.

Hymn for the Weekend, a track from Coldplay’s 2016 album A Head Full of Dreams, holds a special connection to India. Its music video, shot in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Fort Vasai, featured Beyoncé and a cameo by Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor.

Chris Martin, Coldplay’s lead vocalist, further endeared himself to fans by addressing the Mumbai audience in fluent Marathi during the concert, saying, “Tumhi sagle aaj chhaan distat” (You all look amazing today).

As the tour continues, the Coldplay fever is showing no signs of slowing down. The band is set to perform next in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26.
