The Yellowstone Film Festival is set to return to Mumbai from November 13 to 20, bringing with it an exciting lineup of screenings, discussions, and masterclasses that celebrate independent cinema and diverse storytelling voices from around the world.
The festival will begin with the Asian premieres of Ananyabrata Chakravorty's Kaisi Yeh Paheli and Kalainithan Kalaichelvan's short film Karupy.
Uma da Cunha, a seasoned writer and film curator who will receive the Beacon of Indian Cinema Award for her decades of commitment to finding, promoting, and promoting Indian cinema on international stages, will also receive a special tribute on the opening night.
More than 100 films, including documentaries, animated shorts, and live-action features, will be screened during the eight-day festival. Among many other well-known films that have enthralled audiences at international festivals, the lineup includes Aisha Can't Fly, Caravan, Thinestra, Holy Rosita, and Secret of a Mountain Serpent.
The festival's schedule will include thought-provoking masterclasses and panel discussions with well-known filmmakers like Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Shoojit Sircar, and Hansal Mehta, which will give the event more depth.
Leading voices from the industry, including directors Rohan Kanawade, Arati Kadav, Kanu Behl, and Alankrita Srivastava; casting directors Shruti Mahajan and Anmol Ahuja; acting coach Atul Mongia; actor Vipin Sharma; editor Nitin Baid; and Anne Moore, Chair of the Performing Arts Department at the New York Film Academy, will also be present at industry-focused sessions.
Now an eagerly awaited part of Mumbai’s cultural landscape, the Yellowstone Film Festival continues to foster meaningful exchanges between filmmakers and audiences. It stands as a vibrant celebration of storytelling, reaffirming Mumbai’s timeless bond with cinema and its role as the beating heart of India’s film culture.
