Even though Diwali has officially ended, the echoes of firecrackers are still ringing in the early hours, leaving many restless and concerned.

Actress Karishma Tanna recently opened up about her own experience, sharing how she woke up to the sound of fireworks long after the celebrations were over. Her words offer a thoughtful reflection on what it truly means to celebrate.

“Last night, at 6 in the morning, I woke up to the sound of firecrackers exploding in the sky. While the world was trying to rest, someone was still celebrating NOISE. It made me stop and think - what are we really celebrating when our air turns grey, our pets hide under the bed, and tiny birds lose their sense of direction? Is this joy... or just habit?” she wrote, expressing a mixture of frustration and concern that resonates with many who cherish quieter, more mindful festivities.

Karishma’s message also touches on the lessons we pass on to the younger generation. “We're teaching kids that loud means happy, that smoke means festive, that it's okay to scare animals and choke our own skies - because 'Everyone does it.' But what if celebration meant awareness? What if we filled our nights with laughter, diyas, and warmth - not explosives that leave behind fear and fumes? Let's be the generation that redefines joy. Let's celebrate light, not noise. Peace, not pollution. Kindness, not chaos. #SayNoToCrackers #ForOurPlanet #CompassionIsFestive #BeTheChange P.S - Sorry it's a lil late post but these crackers don't stop and I had to put it up!!!”

Apologising for posting a little late, she added, "Sorry it’s a lil late post but these crackers don’t stop and I had to put it up. #SayNoToCrackers, #ForOurPlanet, and #BeTheChange."

Karishma also shared many beautiful photos with her husband Varun Bangera. She captioned the post as, "Lights. Laughter. Love. That’s what this Diwali (and life) should be all about. आप सबके जीवन में खुशियाँ, प्यार और सफलता के दीप जलते रहें. With love & light, Karishma & Varun."
