The Indian entertainment industry is in mourning, as veteran actor Satish Shah has passed away due to kidney failure. Filmmaker and close friend Ashoke Pandit confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional video, visibly shaken while sharing the update.

Ashoke Pandit confirm Satish Shah's death

The Indian entertainment industry was mourning the loss of Piyush Pandey, the legendary man known for making ads now veteran actor Satish Shah, has also passed away due to kidney failure on Thursday.

Ashoke Pandit, a filmmaker and close friend, confirmed the news and posted the devastating update on social media.

Ashoke, who is most remembered for playing Indravadan Sarabhai in the popular sitcom Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, announced the death of his close friend in an emotional video. He looked clearly shaken.

He said, “Namaskar, ek bahut hi dukh bhari khabar main aap logo ko dena chahta hu. Mere param mitra, bahut bade actor Satish Shah ka dehaant ho gaya hai kidney failure ki wajah se. Abhi kuch waqt pehle ghar main unki tabiyat achanak kharab hui, unko hospital le jaaya gaya ussi waqt. Unke ghar Bandra Nagar mein kriya karam kiya jaayega. Bhot bada loss hai humari industry ke liye. Bhot kaam kiya maine Satish ke saath kiya hai, Satish bahut hi accha insaan, bahut hi kamaal ka jovial banda tha (Greetings, I want to share some very sad news with you all. My dear friend, the great actor Satish Shah, has passed away due to kidney failure. Just a little while ago, his health suddenly deteriorated at home, and he was taken to the hospital immediately. His last rites will be held at his residence in Bandra Nagar. This is a huge loss for our industry. I have worked a lot with Satish; he was an incredibly kind person and a truly wonderful, jovial soul.)”

Ashoke Pandit went on to share that he had just returned from adman Piyush Pandey’s funeral when he received the devastating news from Shah’s family. He added, “Shabd nahi hah iss dukh ko vyakt karne ke liye (There are no words to express this grief)”

Alongside the video, Pandit posted a note confirming the details of the actor’s passing. He wrote,
“Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has expired few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was rushed to Hinduja hospital where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti.”

He also shared Shah’s residential details, noting that the actor’s last rites would be held at his home in Bandra East, Mumbai.
